SCHEDULE:
Date: March 22 and 23, 2025
Times:
Saturday 9:00am – 6:00pm
Sunday 2:00pm – 6:00pm
ATTENDANCE:
It’s compulsory you attend 100% of your Initial Training module – no exceptions, please.
PHYSICAL FITNESS:
Our Initial Training is designed to challenge you both physically and mentally. It includes practical and theoretical components and is suitable for experienced fitness class participants who are in good mental health and physically fit.
If you have any doubts about your fitness level due to injury, illness, or pregnancy, please consult your medical advisor before signing up. We may request clearance from a licensed medical professional, and if we have concerns about your health, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the training. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a refund in this case, but we may be able to transfer your training to another date or program.
DIGITAL REQUIREMENTS:
You can access your training release through Les Mills Connect or the Les Mills Releases App on any iOS or Android device. Make sure to download the release for offline use on the app for the best user experience.
PRE-TRAINING WORK:
At least 10 days before the training starts, we’ll let you know if your training materials are available for download in Les Mills Connect. We’ll also provide easy-to-follow instructions on how to download your music, video, and choreography notes.
To prepare for the training, please review your pre-training email, Instructor Handbook, and any other provided resources. You’ll need to commit some time before the training weekend to complete pre-work, but you have autonomy over your learning, so you can decide how you want to complete it. Make sure you’re familiar with the first 3 Key Elements: Choreography, Technique, and Coaching, as you’ll be expected to have a clear understanding of them before the training.
Finally, take the time to get to know the full release and learn your assigned track, which you’ll be presenting during the training weekend.
POST-TRAINING WORK:
Remember to finish any post-training tasks and share a video of your assigned track no later than one day after training. Look out for an email with a link to upload your video after training in Les Mills Connect.
ASSESSMENT VIDEO:
Just attending Initial Training doesn’t guarantee certification.
After passing Initial Training, you’ll need to submit a video within 60 days to show that you can teach safely and effectively.
Submitting the video doesn’t guarantee certification – you’ll have to receive a ‘PASS’ outcome to become certified.
Filming the video can only be done in a licensed facility, and for some programs, you’ll need at least 5 visible participants.
